Royal blessings for philanthropist
Mrs. Nneka Jemie is the initiator of the programme to uplift her natal community, with the active support of her husband, Prof Onwuchekwa Jemie, an academic, writer, and respected Nigeria media manager. She was represented by the Operations Manager of the foundation, Mrs. Gladys Eze.
Igwe Ekwo recalled that though married outside the state, Mrs. Jemie did not forget her suffering folks and therefore showered her with his royal blessings.
“She is not the richest but is doing this for the love and interest she has for her people, focusing on the needy, sick, old, orphans among us.
“This is very noble; we can’t thank her enough for the medical outreach, giving out food stuff and training of our youth in various schools,” he said.
Our mission, by Adani Care
Mrs. Jemie told newspeople that Adani Care creates public awareness of the abject poverty that ravages rural communities of Nigeria.
“We help to reduce its impact by lifting members of the community above the poverty line.
“The focus is especially widows, orphans, youths, adults, the sick, and the elderly,” she said.
‘Here to serve’
“We are here to serve you and to praise your remarkable resilience in the face of hardship. You inspire us every day with your courage and determination.
She said Adani Care so far provided over 430 screenings, critical medication to individuals, served 1,300 hot meals, and distributed hundreds of bags of 50kg Rice to address their food shortages.
The NGO also awarded a nursing scholarship and delivers ongoing vocational training for youths.
At the Easter Event, the Foundation gifted 50kg Rice to over 150 families and offered free medical care through a standing medical team. A dentist gave a practical demonstration of how to care for the teeth at the 2-day event.
